Thanks for drawing attention to this. I will push back against one thing you said: that trans folks represent "a very small minority." I understand why it makes sense rhetorically to assert this -- to minimize the imagined threat that we pose -- and it's true that coming up with an accurate percentage is difficult at best since it relies on our self-reporting, and lots of folks will be uncomfortable doing so for reasons your piece makes clear. Still, generally reliable estimates place us at .6-.7% of the general population -- 1.6 million or more souls -- which is hardly a "very small" group of people.
